Q: How do I begin?
A: Bridal magazines are always a good place
to start. How do you envision your perfect day? And
how do you see yourself as a bride? As a princess
with a big full gown? Romantic? Sexy? Dramatic? Or
Natural? Where do you see your wedding taking
place? In a Garden? In a church? On the beach?
Next consider your budget for a
gown. There are many budget worksheets available to
help layout your total wedding costs. With the
different categories of bridal gowns we carry and
our large selection, you are almost guaranteed to
find a dress just perfect for you, within your
budget at Garden Bridal . Bringing in pages
from Bridal Magazines or knowing your desired style
and setting and your budget will greatly help our
Associate help find the perfect dress for you.
Q: Do I need to make an
appointment?
A: We are truly a unique bridal store in
that you do not need to make an appointment to view
our wedding dresses. Unlike other salons that do not
permit access to viewing the gowns without an
appointment, we believe you need to be able to
browse through our fabulous gowns to see their true
beauty. Especially for our “Off the Rack”, Vintage
and Consignment collections which change constantly,
these are essentially “one of a kind” gowns and
viewing these collections is the only way to see
which gowns are available.
HOWEVER, if you want to try on any of our gorgeous
gowns, we do require that you make an appointment.
Since many of these gowns are unique and could be
potentially purchased by a bride, we owe it to
everyone to be sure these gowns are handled with the
utmost care. Many of the gowns are valuable and
require undergarments. In order that we can serve
your needs in the best possible way, an appointment
insures you are provided with the attention and
assistance you deserve.
Q: What about Bridal Gown Sizing and Alterations?
A:
Bridal Gown sizing is very different.
Each designer or manufacturer uses different
measurements for their sizing charts. Should you
choose to purchase a Current Designer or Custom
order style, we will take your measurements and
order the best fit for you. Should you choose a gown
from any of our other collections, a good rule of
thumb is that the Bridal size is 1 to 2 sizes larger
than your “street size”. For example, if you are
normally a size 8, your Bridal size may be a size 10
or 12. When looking for a gown, especially an “Off
the Rack”, Vintage or Consigned Gown, you may want
to begin your search with the larger size as it is
much easier to alter a dress smaller rather than
making a dress bigger.
We provide an expert alterations service through our
store. The alterations are not
included in the price of the gown and will vary with
what’s involved. Our Master alterations specialist
does require appointments for fittings and will
quote you prices for the alterations upon request. |
